The gradient-corrected linear interpolation method and system for demosaicing (demosaicing) of a color image is provided. A method and system to calculate the term (such as the gradient of the desired colors of the given pixel) and calculates the interpolation, a correction using the predetermined state of the art (bilinear interpolation technique for satisfactory, reducing the computational complexity) and, in combination with a correction term as a linear interpolation, to produce a high quality correction of the color interpolation in the pixel value loss. Correction term can be calculated from the current anti-Japanese currently gradient correction of the pixel color. This gradient affects the color of the estimated values generated by the conventional interpolation technique is directly used to correct the value. The gradient-corrected linear interpolation method and system may also apply a gradient to the gradient correction gain correction term.
