PURPOSE: A method for preventing citrus postharvest disease using pyroligneous liquor tar is provided to ensure non-toxicity and environmental-friendly prevention. CONSTITUTION: A method for preventing citrus postharvest disease comprises a step of treating with 0.2-5 mg/10,000 cm^2 of pyroligneous liquor tar gas after harvesting citrus. The tar is treated by dissolving in ethanol alcohol and diluting in 500-4000 times volume of water. The tar is obtained from Cryptomeria japonica extract.
