PURPOSE: A middle-span plate girder bridge and a construction method thereof are provided to improve structural stability by reducing positive moment and effectively supporting negative moment. CONSTITUTION: A middle-span plate girder bridge comprises substructures(10,10'), steel girders(110), steel cross beams(120,115), fill concrete(130,140), a concrete slab(150), stay cables(160), and tendons. The steel girders are placed on bridge bearings of the substructures in multi-rows. The steel cross beams connect the steel girders in a horizontal direction. The fill concrete horizontally connects the steel girders to parts where negative and positive moments are applied. The concrete slab is integrated on the top of the steel girders. The stay cables inclinedly connect support brackets(128) protruded from the outermost steel cross beam to tower foundations. The tendons are arranged on the fill concrete in a horizontal direction.
