PURPOSE: A method for synthesizing nano-structure gamma manganese oxide powder using an atmospheric pressure and low temperature-based process and a method for manufacturing lithium manganese oxide using the same are provided to secure the high yield and the high purity by optimizing a stirring condition at low temperature. CONSTITUTION: A method for synthesizing nano-structure gamma manganese oxide powder implements low temperature reaction by mixing manganese salt with sulfur compound and distilled water. The manganese salt is one selected from a group including MnSO_4, Mn(NO_3)_2, Mn(CH_3COO)_2, (CH_3COO)_2Mn4H_2O, and MnCl_2. The sulfur compound is the sulfur compound of one selected from (NH_4)_2S_2O_8 or Na_2S_2O_8. The reaction temperature is between 90 and 100 degrees Celsius, and the reaction time is between 12 and 24 hours.
