PURPOSE: A descending auxiliary device for a side scan sonar is provided to prevent a towing cable to be twisted so that the towing cable passes through the inside a body.;CONSTITUTION: A descending auxiliary device(100) is comprised of a body, a vertical blade(120), and a pair of horizontal blades(130). The body is formed into pipe shape. A towing cable penetrated hole(111) is formed on center of the body in a longitudinal direction. The vertical blade is fixed to the back end of the body. A vertical blade assistant bar(121) is placed on both sides of the vertical blade. The pair of horizontal blades is placed on both sides of the back end of the body.
