FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: method of producing sodium bicarbonate in a carbonating column, consisting of absorption and cooling barrels which form absorption and cooling zones, respectively, involves saturation of ammoniated and partially carbonated brine with a carbonating gas, further crystallisation of sodium bicarbonate and cooling the obtained suspension. The carbonating gas is fed in a counter current into the ammoniated and partially carbonated brine. Carbonating gas is fed into the absorption zone with volume concentration CO2 32-45% in amount of 9050-9200 m3/h, and into the cooling zone with volume concentration CO2 75-85% in amount of 7800-8200 m3/h. The obtained suspension is cooled in the cooling zone formed by cooling and intermediate barrels and divided into two parts by a separating zone. The height of the bottom part of the cooling zone is 15-35% of the total length of the cooling zone.;EFFECT: invention enables to obtain a coarse-crystalline residue of sodium bicarbonate with low residual moisture content during filtration, and increase efficiency of the column.;4 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl, 1 ex
