FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production of a novel composite oxide with a sillenite structure, which is a promising material for different acousto- and optoelectronic devices such as piezoelectric sensors, filters and delay lines for electromagnetic signals, electro- and magneto-optical devices for measuring field strength, space-time and magneto-optical modulators. The composite oxide with a sillenite structure is obtained via hydrothermal synthesis from an alkaline solution, wherein the a rare-earth element Sm in form of Sm2O3 is added to the starting charge material consisting of NaBiO3 and V2O5 to form a composite oxide of the composition Bi3+0.807(3)Sm3+0.193)24(Bi3+0.06(1)V5+0.61)2O36.2.;EFFECT: method enables to obtain cubic monocrystals of spontaneous generation with a normal composition and improved magneto-optical properties.;2 ex, 1 tbl
