FIELD: process engineering.;SUBSTANCE: proposed method comprises heat insulation of hot slab in its transfer to rolling. Crack formation and side crops are ruled out by insulating the slab by box driven on table in synchronism with slab or due to contact between box and slab. Proposed furnace set additionally comprises truck to move on supports along intake roll table, rectangular heat-insulation box with concave side facing said intake roll table, and funnel with rulers arranged outside of slab exit from furnace. Note here that said funnel with rulers is equipped with drives to displace said rulers to/from the roll table center while said rulers are arranged on both sides of the box and furnished with truck axial retainers. Said truck allows mounting different-width heat insulation box. Note here that said box can easily displace vertically.;EFFECT: ruled out crack formation and side crops.;5 cl, 11 dwg
