FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, namely traumatology and orthopaedics. An external fixation apparatus is applied to an injured heel bone. Two or three paraosseous wires are introduced in a sagittal plane above the heel bone under a posterior process of talus. Another two wires are introduced in upper bone fragments in a frontal plane. The wires are fixed in an apparatus mount. Graduated distraction shall be applied to eliminate the upward fragment displacement. Then, the fragment position is stabilised in the apparatus in the extended position for a period needed for synostisis.;EFFECT: method provides reduced intraoperative injures, ensures fragment reposition and fixation, improves the cosmetic and functional effect, prevents recurrent deformations in the patients suffering comminuted heel bone fragments, reduces length of treatment.
