FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: described is a differential massive calorimeter in which measurement working masses and measurement comparison masses are placed in different compartments of the housing of the calorimeter system which is a reaction chamber, wherein said masses are made in form of thin-film electroconductive elongated strips or wires or electroconductive tubes. The second aspect of the invention is a method of determining heat of adsorption or chemical reaction of gases using said apparatus. The novelty in this case is that the measurement masses are first degassed by blowing compartments of the chamber with the working masses with inert gas while simultaneously heating the masses using current. A layer of adsorbed molecules is then deposited on the surface of the working masses by exposing the masses to the analysed gas followed by second blowing with inert gas.;EFFECT: high accuracy and multifunctionality of processes for measuring heat of chemical reaction and heat of adsorption of substances.;9 cl, 6 dwg
