FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: group of inventions refers to medicine. A method of operation of an apparatus designed to perform respiratory cycles consisting of an inhalation phase and an exhalation phase having a talk mode, comprises apparatus control by controlling proportionally regulated inhalation and exhalation valves so that (a) during the inhalation phase gas flows in an inhalation pipe through an endotracheal tube (16) and inflows into patient's airway and lungs with the endotracheal tube being inserted below patient's vocal chords, and (b) during the talk mode of the exhalation phase, the proportionally regulated exhalation valve is kept relatively closed, and the patient can exhale the gasses from the airway and lungs around the endotracheal tube by the vocal chords and outside from the mouth; and performing pressure monitoring in at least one of the pipes during the inhalation and exhalation phases to measure the internal pressure to be used in the apparatus for performing ventilation by controlling at least one of the proportionally regulated inhalation and exhalation valves for the purpose of regulating the desired pressured in at least of one pipe and inside the patient during both phases.
