FIELD: chemistry.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to chemical engineering. A suspension based on nanodiamonds, a modifier and water is prepared. The modifier used is a Na2CO3 or NaHCO3 solution which is added to dry nanodiamond powder in an amount necessary for saturation thereof. The obtained suspension is separated into supernatant fluid and residue. Water is added to the residue to obtain a suspension which is divided into fractions and concentrated. Separation of the nanodiamond suspension is carried out by differential centrifuging. Nanodiamonds and clusters thereof are cleaned from modifier residues via dialysis.;EFFECT: simple, faster and cheaper technique of separating size-classified nanodiamonds and clusters thereof of high purity, which form hydrosols of high colloidal stability.;2 cl, 4 dwg, 3 ex
