CORRELATION-EXTREMUM METHOD FOR DETERMINING RADIATION ENVIRONMENT

FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: determination of the age of radioactive products based on data on radiation level measurements is carried out using the curve of radiation attenuation by a layer of substance (filter) versus energy of ionising radiation. Optimum determination of the age provides a correlation-extremum identification algorithm. The algorithm is based on analysis of the spectrum obtained from dose rate measurements on the radiation contaminated area for similarity to any of the reference spectra.;EFFECT: faster determination of the radiation environment.;3 dwg
