The mechanism has slides (4.1.1, 4.2.1, 4.3.1) respectively cooperating with push buttons, where the push buttons possess different functions of mechanical watch. A connection unit (5) connects two of the push buttons to prevent or release actuation of one of the push buttons based on actuation state of the other push button. The connection unit simultaneously cooperates with one of the slides kinematically connected to the third push button, so as to prevent or release the actuation of the latter push button based on the actuation state of the third push button. An independent claim is also included for a timepiece i.e. mechanical wrist watch, comprising a push button control mechanism.
