The present invention relates to novel substituted pentapeptide compound of general formula (I) R 1 -Gly-Pro-lle-Gly-A 1 (I) wherein A 1 is Ser or Thr, and R 1 is -C (O) - (C 1 -C 24) alkyl, -C (O) -CH 2 CH (OH) CH 2 N + (CH 3) 3 (Carnitinoyl), 1,2-dithiolane-3-pentanoyl, -C (O) - (CH 2) 2 NHC (O) CH (OH) C (CH 3) 2 CH 2 OH mean (Pantothenoyl) or (biotinyl), as racemates or in their enantiomerically pure form. The present invention further relates to their use for preparing cosmetic dermatologically effective compositions, these compositions, in particular to their use as a hair restorer, as well as to a cosmetic method for promoting hair growth.
