Method for measuring flow rate of liquid i.e. seepage water, on thermal way in e.g. mining industry, involves evaluating temperature curve for determining decay time that is measure for velocity of liquid in surrounding of heating element
The method involves activating a heating element (2) during a predetermined time period for short-term increasing of temperature in the surrounding of the heating element. The temperature in the surrounding of the heating element is measured as function of time by a temperature sensor (1) e.g. thermocouple, where the temperature sensor and the heating element are thermally coupled with one another. A temperature curve is evaluated for determining a decay time, where the decay time is a measure for velocity of liquid in the surrounding of the heating element and/or the temperature sensor. An independent claim is also included for a flow sensor for measuring flow rate of liquid on thermal way.
