A transportation unit has passenger seats that are connected to conveyor cable through clutch (4) by suspension (3). The suspension has a rotary bearing which is set as a pivot bearing (18) having perpendicular axis, for pivoting the cable car chair in the region of the deflection station in the clockwise or counter-clockwise direction, into a position which is at an angle to the direction of travel. The pivot angle is less than 45[deg] in the clockwise direction, together with backward pivoting in the counter-clockwise direction.
