The instrument has an input transducer, a signal processing device (3) and an output signal generator that are arranged in a housing (1). The housing and an earpiece are connected to each other over a joint e.g. ball-and-socket joint and pivot joint. The ear piece comprises a truncated cone and a dome, and is made of soft material e.g. silicone material i.e. silicone gel. A joint element is directly connected with the housing and made of hard material i.e. hard plastic and metal. A microphone (4) is connected with an opening.
