The system has a fixed bearing component (12) and a movable bearing component (14) separated from each other by a bearing gap filled with bearing fluid. Radial bearings (24, 26) are characterized by radial bearing grooves (25, 27) and axially arranged at a distance from each other. External ends of the radial bearing grooves are turned away from each other. A material is applied at annular contact areas (38, 40), where amount of materials corresponds to evaluated material range during qualification test of a fluid-dynamic bearing, and the annular contact areas are surface treated. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a spindle motor comprising a fluid-dynamic bearing (2) a method for improving wear characteristics of a fluid-dynamic bearing.
