The seal has two seal surfaces separated from each other by a seal gap (32) that is filled with bearing fluid i.e. bearing oil, where the seal gap is limited at an open end of a bearing gap (20). Two seal surfaces are provided with groove structures (36a), where the groove structures are arranged such that the structures pump the bearing fluid in the seal gap towards the bearing gap during relative motion of the seal surfaces. A blow channel (37) is arranged on one of the seal surfaces transverse to the groove structures of the seal. An independent claim is also included for a spindle engine comprising a stator and a rotor.
