The compressed air system (10) has a compressor (12), a low-pressure container (14,16) for storing the pressure air on a pressure level. A high-pressure container (18) is provided for storing the pressure air on another pressure level. The latter pressure level is higher than the former pressure level. A control unit (20) is equipped with the compressed air system. An independent claim is also included for a method for deploying and managing compressed air by a compressed air system for commercial vehicles.
