The member (11) has two contact pieces (5, 8) coupled to fixed contacts (6, 9) of contact systems (7, 10) of a switching device (1) through a coupling unit, respectively. The contact systems are closed in different directions under action of contact pressure force and/or introduction of a drive movement. The coupling unit comprises a spring element e.g. cup spring and spiral spring, that is displaceable between first and second ranging portions of a coupled housing. Another spring element is arranged between stops of the second ranging portion and a third ranging portion.
