Sand casting method for producing a component of an aluminum- or a magnesium alloy, comprises filling the molten aluminum- or the magnesium alloy into a cavity present in a sand mold, and generating a wave motion in the melt up to the surface of the mold during the entire casting process, and thus avoiding the formation of a closed oxide layer or large surface oxide layer plates on the surface of the melt accessible for oxygen.
