The device (2) has a waste heat utilization circuit (3) circulating working fluid. An evaporator (4) is arranged in the heat utilization circuit for evaporating the working fluid after using the waste heat from an internal combustion engine (1). An expansion machine (6) is arranged in the heat utilization circuit at a downstream of the evaporator. A compression machine (8) is arranged in the heat utilization circuit at downstream of a capacitor (7) for compressing the working fluid at high pressure. A separate pressure setting unit (16) adjusts low pressure of the working fluid.
