The device has a circulating aeration body (3) that is supplied with a gas mixture (1) by a gas supply line (5). A set of openings (7) is provided at the circulating aeration body for outpouring the gas mixture. A gas suction device (9) is enclosed by the circulating aeration body, and is connected to a gas discharge line (11). The gas suction device is arranged on or over an agricultural soil surface (2), and the aeration body is provided with a rain shield device. An independent claim is also included for a method for treatment of an agricultural soil surface by gassing with a gas mixture.
