Method for extracting non-magnetic valuable material e.g. indium, from fuel cell, involves adding chemicals for separation of hydrophobic binding of agglomerates, and magnetically separating magnetic material
The method (1) involves cutting an electronic scrap (2) into particles. Suspension is formed (3) by adding water and hydrophobizing agent, which is selectively combined with valuable material to be extracted. Hydrophobized magnetic material e.g. magnetite and xanthate, is added (4). Agglomerates containing the hydrophobized valuable material particles and hydrophobized magnetic material, of the suspension are separated (5). Chemicals e.g. surface active agents, are added (6) for separation of hydrophobic binding of the agglomerates. The magnetic material is magnetically separated (7).
