The microscope (2) has an actuator for controlling an adjustable mechanism (4) of the microscope and formed as an electroactive polymer (EAP) actuator i.e. dielectric elastomer actuator, where the microscope is attached on a stand (3). The adjustable mechanism is formed as a focusing mechanism, a zoom mechanism and/or a positioning mechanism, and is coupled with an optical device e.g. shutter, lens, diaphragm and/or mirror. The adjustable mechanism is formed of a non-magnetic material, where spatial position of the microscope is adjustable by the stand.
