The method involves installing software for data processing devices. An input mask (140) is provided to input parameters to one of the processing devices based on definition of an element of a graphic user interface (100). The input parameters are installed to the software of one of the devices. The installed software is produced on the other device using handed over parameters of the former device. A preview (170) of the appearance of the graphic user interface that is given on a display (120) of the former device is displayed on the latter device.
