The method involves printing a control panel arrangement (10) by a printer on a printing medium. Grey fields (A1-A20) of the arrangement are spectrophotometric-measured, and reference values are calculated for the measured grey fields, where the calculation of the reference values is enabled under consideration of self-coloration of the print medium. The measured value containing the measured grey fields is compared with calculated reference values. Printing result of the printer is evaluated based on the comparison result.
