The method involves continuously examining the feed discharged from a mixing vessel (23), so as to obtain feed analysis values. The weight of feed discharged from the mixing vessel is measured. The amount of nutrient content in the feed is determined from the feed analysis values and weight of feed discharged from mixing vessel. The determined nutrient content amount is displayed in a data display unit (17). The discharge of feed is stopped when the nutrient content amount reaches a default value.
