The method involves switching current to a headlight (1) and/or an electrical accessory (8) of a motorcycle during ignition and/or running of an engine if a side stand or stand is brought into a driving position. An inclination of the motorcycle is brought into a driving position and/or a signal is provided by a sensor e.g. gear position sensor (5) and inclination sensor (6), to drive the motorcycle. A relay (7) is supplied with control current over an ignition starting switch (3). The control currents abut at the relay when the side stand is lifted up in a driving position. An independent claim is also included for a system for charging an electrical system and connecting a headlight at a motorcycle.
