Method and apparatus for steel continuous casting of square and circular cross-sections, comprises oscillating a vertical mold, and carrying out subsequent secondary cooling and strand guiding of the mold in the form of arc-shaped plant
The method and apparatus comprises oscillating a vertical mold, and carrying out a subsequent secondary cooling and strand guiding of the mold in form an arc-shaped or oval arch-plant. A combination of casting machine and strand guide is used, where the casting machine has four different molds (round or square) for different casting sizes. One of the four molds is clamped by rotating about a vertical axis placed in the operational position, and each of the four molds has its own linear actuator for oscillation. The strand guide comprises four rollers per support point. The method and apparatus comprises oscillating a vertical mold, and carrying out a subsequent secondary cooling and strand guiding of the mold in form an arc-shaped or oval arch-plant. A combination of casting machine and strand guide is used, where the casting machine has four different molds (round or square) for different casting sizes. One of the four molds is clamped by rotating about a vertical axis placed in the operational position, and each of the four molds has its own linear actuator for oscillation. The strand guide: comprises four rollers per support point, where the rollers stand at an angle of 90 degrees to each other and are switch-selectable over sloping guides on different casting cross-sections; and is adjusted quickly to the cross sections of another mold using a program control. The shaft axes used to support cantilever housing run perpendicular to the guides. A conservative symmetric deformation is carried out at liquid core in the secondary cooling zone of the plant, and all paths of deformation scaffolding are measured and processed in a control so that a freely selectable transformation is adjusted depending on different material. The transformation of various segments is distributed by liquid core reduction, where per segment deformation groups are used. The deformation group is defined by a scaffolding arrangement. The scaffolding arrangements use profiled support rollers and smooth, supporting rollers, and are pivoted by 45 degrees to each other. The contact length of the profiled support rollers is chosen so that more than 61% of the circumference of the square is detected by the profiled rollers. The contact length of the smooth support rollers is selected so that more than 40% of the circumference of the square of the smooth rollers is detected. The molding machines are used together with the strand guide.
