The commutator (28) has a cylindrical base body (29) with a rotational symmetry axis (12), and a lamella (30) connected to the base body. A holding portion (31) of the lamella is arranged in a groove (32) of the base body, where a cross-sectional profile of the lamella in the holding portion is continuously tapered in a section (33) of the lamella along a radial direction (A) with respect to the rotational symmetry axis. The lamella is clamped in a groove by a fixing body that is arranged in the radial direction between sections. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a commutator for an electric machine.
