The method involves providing a corresponding visiting card (20), and capturing a front side of the visiting card by a camera (11) of a mobile or stationary communication apparatus (10). The captured image of the front side is compared with visiting card images stored in a database, where the visiting card is determined to be unique if the captured front side does not matches with the stored images. Contact information corresponding to the visiting card is transmitted from a server (30) to the communication apparatus, where the image comparison relies on comparison of patterns of the cards.
