The method involves enabling displacement of an X-ray system and a patient (P) relative to each other such that a central line or tissue axis is moved through an isocenter (IZ) of the X-ray system. The patient is mounted on a patient bed (9), where the bed or components e.g. bed base (10) and patient positioning plate (11), of the bed is adjusted in height and/or transverse to a system axis (S) while recording x-ray projections. The system is additionally tilted over a tilting axis (K) while recording the projections, where the tilting axis is perpendicular to the system axis. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a computer program comprising a set of instructions to perform a method for recording X-ray projections of a tissue of a patient (2) a data carrier comprising a computer program (3) a computer tomography apparatus comprising a computing unit.
