The method involves recording X-ray images (20) of blood vessel (11) of patient using contrast agent (21) and calculating contrast intensity curves corresponding to the recorded X-ray images. The image areas in the recorded X-ray images are filtered based on the recording time profile and defined parameters of the contrast intensity curves. A vessel image (27) including the image areas based on the defined parameters is represented. An independent claim is included for angiographic X-ray system.
