The metering unit has an infinitely variable magnetic valve comprising a magnetic core (10) formed with inlet holes (15). A filter element (16) is arranged in region of the inlet hole at an outer periphery (14) of the magnetic core. A groove (20) i.e. annular groove, is formed continuously or partially around the outer periphery of the magnetic core at which the filter element is arranged. The filter element is formed as a ring element and comprises a filtering fabric. The groove comprises two groove edges (21, 22), where the filter element is abutted on the groove edges.
