The analysis method involves determining characteristic parameters for the cross section of the vascular branch in front of the respective branch and characteristic parameters for the cross section of the vascular branch behind the respective branch by a processor (1) at the branches of the vascular system. The processor analyzes whether the cross section of the vascular branch in front of the respective branch and the cross section of the vascular branch behind the respective branch are in a predetermined relationship. An independent claim is also included for a computer program for executing the analysis method.
