The arrangement has a shaft section axially arranged between other two shaft sections. A shaft (3) includes a recess i.e. hole (6), extending in a shaft axis direction. The shaft axially penetrates one of the two shaft portions so that a rod (9) is rotatably fixedly connected with the shaft at a point. A measuring unit detects rotation between the rod and the shaft based on conveyed torque. The measuring unit detects a rod radial deflection from a position in middle of the recess, where the deflection is caused by a transverse torque applied on the shaft in one of the two shaft sections. An independent claim is also included for a transmission comprising a measuring device.
