The device has a camera casing which includes a light-sensitive image pickup sensor with an electronically actuated deletion or reset pin. An image pick-up release device electronically actuates the deletion or reset pin through lens control electronics and/or camera control electronics such that the image recording operation is performed without closing central lock, and is stopped by interrupting the deletion or reset pin actuation and closing the central lock with central closing mechanism. An independent claim is included for method for controlling digital imaging device.
