Steel production- and processing device comprises: an electric arc furnace (10) with a furnace vessel (11), a lid (12), and a loading opening (14) in a side wall of the furnace vessel; a feedstock charging device (20), which is connected with the furnace vessel for charging through the opening; and a processing device, which is connected with the furnace vessel via a device for slag-free continuous transfer of molten steel from the furnace vessel. An independent claim is also included for continuously melting steel scrap and metallurgically treating the molten bath comprising (a) continuously melting the steel scrap in the electric arc furnace, (b) carrying out continuous, slag-free transfer of the molten steel from a steel bath-1 of the electric arc furnace into the processing device, (c) metallurgically treating and adjusting the temperature of a steel bath-2 in the processing device, which is supplied by the slag-free transferred steel from the furnace, and (d) continuously discharging the steel into a further processing device or a vessel.
