The method of producing inorganic converters (6), comprises: providing a mixture (3) from a powdered glass (1) and a powdered phosphor (2); producing a converter strand (5) by an extrusion (10) of the mixture through a device; introducing the mixture into the device for extruding or by molding a molded body from the mixture; introducing the molded body into the device so that the molded body is extruded; and separating the extruded converter strand for providing an individual converter or cutting the extruded converter strand. The method of producing inorganic converters (6), comprises: providing a mixture (3) from a powdered glass (1) and a powdered phosphor (2); producing a converter strand (5) by an extrusion (10) of the mixture through a device; introducing the mixture into the device for extruding or by molding a molded body from the mixture; introducing the molded body into the device so that the molded body is extruded; separating the extruded converter strand for providing an individual converter or cutting the extruded converter strand; separating a cut-to-length converter strand for providing the individual converter; arranging the cut-to-length converter strand to a group by a detachable connection of a grouped converter strand to a bundle by an unit for connecting; feeding the bundle to a separation device; and separating the bundle on a target size of the converter. The mixture is provided with a binding agent and/or an additive, which comprises a plasticizer, a lubricant and/or a wetting agent. The step of molding the molded body comprises pressing the mixture. The step of pressing is carried out: uniaxially; cold isostatically; and/or hot isostatically, where the molded and/or pressed molded body is sintered and pressure-supported. The step of providing and/or introducing the mixture and/or the molded body are heated: into the device so that the mixture or the molded body is deformable; and in a portion of the device to a temperature at which the glass has a viscosity of 10 2-10 9dPas. The extruded converter strand, the cut-to-length converter strand and/or an isolated converter: of a heat treatment are applied so that a deformation of the isolated converter is correctable; are heated to a temperature at which the glass has a viscosity of 10 4-10 13dPas. The binding agent is removable from the mixture, the extruded converter strand, the cut-to-length converter strand and/or the isolated converter. The binding agent is removed by dissolving the binding agent. An independent claim is included for a converter such as an inorganic converter.
