The light has planar rectangular light conductors (1) made of transparent material, where a surface (7) of each conductor forms a light exit surface (2) facing an inner space of a vehicle i.e. motor car. Light from light sources e.g. LEDs (10, 12), is deflected at a coupling region (8) of the light conductors. The light conductors are transilluminated by the light transverse to a plane of the light exit surface in the vehicle inner space. The light sources emit white and/or colored light e.g. red, yellow or blue light. The light sources are controllably separated from each other.
