The connector (1) has an actuatable or switchable contact (6) e.g. microswitch, actuatable by joining together a socket (3) and a plug for activation of a laser. The contact is arranged outside a plug-in region of a standard subminiature version A (SMA) or-straight tip (ST)-connector (4a). The plug is sized and/or designed such that the plug holds the contact directly in a switching position by a transfer element e.g. pushrod when the laser is activated. Axial length of a coupling part (8) is smaller than that of a coupling portion of the standard SMA or standard ST-connector.
