The device has a high-voltage battery (8) e.g. lithium-ion battery and nickel metal hydride battery, including a guiding unit (9) arranged in a housing (7) to guide a cooling medium i.e. coolant. The medium from a cooling device i.e. air-conditioning system, in a vehicle reaches to the guiding unit. A valve device (10) influences flow of the medium and is arranged within the housing. The valve device is adjustable by a magnetic drive (11') that is arranged in the housing together with the valve device. The drive is formed as a high-voltage magnetic drive and operates dependent on temperature.
