The axial piston combustion engine has multiple engine cylinders, in which an engine piston (k) is longitudinally moved. The engine pistons are designed as tandem piston, which have a coupling section (KK) in operative connection with the rotor assembly (R). An axial piston section (K1) axially borders a volume changeable combustion chamber (ZB1) and another axial piston axially borders another volume changeable combustion chamber (ZB2).
