The device has split roller and/or barrel-shaped food containers (2a, 2b) including a handle at an upper side for rotating and opening. The containers include diverse mounting objects e.g. shells, for receiving and/or aromatizing food. Lateral supply air openings are provided at a lower edge of the containers. Supply air and/or measuring openings are provided at the upper side of the containers for achieving multiple cooking processes. The containers are heated by an elevated shell (1). Fuel is filled between an edge and an inwardly lying ring of the containers. An independent claim is also included for a method for preparing meat and fish.
