The arrangement has a slot-shaped opening (6) located along a longitudinal axis. A metal sheet (2) is provided along an edge portion corresponding to the slot-shaped opening. A projection structure is inserted into the slot-shaped opening. The projection structure is set to project from the edge portion towards a vertical axis. The slot-shaped opening is provided with a flare portion (24) which extends transverse to the longitudinal axis through a basic contour portion of the slot-shaped opening. An independent claim is included for method for welding metal sheets for formation of metal sheet arrangement.
