The compact milling head has two-axis rotary head and a spindle unit. A supporting unit (1) rotates around an axis of rotation and a spindle unit (2) rotates around another axis of rotation. The motors are arranged completely or partially above a main bearing (3) of the axis for rotation and a force flow is produced by a play free tensed gear unit for the spindle unit.
