The component (100) has a chip (110) comprising multiple side surfaces (S1-S6) and a contact terminal (140) for application of a voltage to the chip. A retention device (120) comprises two holder arms (121) for mechanical supporting the chip at the retention device, where the chip is held by a clamp between the two holder arms. The chip connects the holder arms to the contact terminal, where one of the side surfaces of the chip except the contact terminal is arranged at the retention device in a non-contact manner. The retention device comprises a base carrier element (122). The chip is designed as a heat exchanger, a piezoelectric transducer, a thermoelectric transducer, a peltier element, a heating element, or an infrared radiator. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an electrical component.
